Concept

and objectives

Awakening to Life. Childhood and Adolescence in Ancient Egypt is a unique exhibition that takes us back to a crucial stage of life in one of the most fascinating civilizations in history: childhood and youth in Ancient Egypt.

Through a rigorous, cross-disciplinary approach, this exhibition offers a unique look at how Egyptian children and adolescents lived, grew, learned, and interacted, from the predynastic period to the Greco-Roman period.

The exhibition explores how social class, family background, and gender influenced their physical, social, and spiritual development.

The fundamental objectives of this exhibition are:

Revaluing childhood as a key stage in Egyptian culture.

Show the differences and similarities between social classes and genders.

Showcase exceptional pieces, many of them previously unseen in Spain.

Connecting past and present through an accesible, emotional and inmersive journey.

Because even the little ones left their mark on history.
